Ultra Short Throw

Laser TV Screens That Kill Ambient Light

Ultra-short-throw (UST) projector screens are engineered for laser TVs and UST projectors that sit just 10–30 cm from the screen. At that shallow projection angle, the beam arrives from near floor level — meaning conventional matte white or standard ALR screens produce severe hotspots, banding, and gain roll-off at the screen edges. Only purpose-built lenticular or Fresnel optics can handle UST geometry correctly.

TrueThrow UST screens use three optical approaches. Lenticular carbon-black (CBSP, HBSP, BSP) screens use precisely spaced micro-lens structures to accept the low-angle UST beam while rejecting steep-angle ceiling light — the dominant ambient light source in a typical room. The Fresnel ALR (FRS) uses concentric ring optics to deliver 1.4 gain from a very compact throw, suited for bright rooms or projectors with lower lumen output. The HBSI TPU combines lenticular ALR fabric with a motorized floor-rising mechanism for rooms where a fixed screen installation is not desired.

All TrueThrow UST screens are 4K/8K compatible, ship direct-to-door to Canada with no brokerage fees, and carry a 1-year warranty. Compatible with Hisense TriChroma, Samsung The Premiere, LG CineBeam, AWOL Vision, BenQ V series, XGIMI, and all other major UST laser TV brands.

Selecting Your UST Screen

CBSP — 0.60 gain, 120–130″: flagship carbon-black lenticular for maximum contrast in lit rooms.
HBSP — 0.72 gain, 80–120″: premium carbon-black lenticular with a slightly wider gain for dimmer rooms.
BSP (PET Crystal) — 0.60 gain, 80–120″: entry-level lenticular, value UST ALR screen.
Fresnel (FRS) — 1.4 gain, 80–120″: highest-brightness UST ALR, for very bright rooms.
HBSI TPU — motorized floor-rising, 84–130″: lenticular UST ALR that disappears when not in use.

UST-Only Optics

Purpose-built lenticular or Fresnel surfaces accept the steep near-floor beam of a UST laser TV — conventional ALR screens produce severe hotspots at UST throw distances.

Ceiling Light Rejection

Lenticular and Fresnel structures reject steep-angle overhead light while passing the projector’s low-angle beam — critical for open-plan rooms with ceiling fixtures.

4K / 8K Laser Ready

Zero moiré, zero optical interference with the pixel-dense beams of today’s 4K and emerging 8K laser TVs from all major brands.
